HACIA UNA INTEGRACION LATINOAMERICANA

Ya se está yendo otro año de duro trabajo de la Asociación. Por suerte este año no debimos lidiar con una epidemia de gripe, pero el aumento de los costos laborales, la inflación, y varios temas impositivos no nos dieron respiro.

El mayor logro de este año fue el lograr eliminar un impuesto que se quería aplicar a los centros de entretenimiento familiar en forma totalmente incorrecta.

Pese a esto las empresas siguieron creciendo, abriendo nuevos locales y en algunos casos ampliando sus operaciones en el exterior.
Por otro lado este año fue el más importante en cuanto a integración con otros países de la región.

A fines del año pasado se creó el Comité Asesor de América Latina de IAAPA presidido por Marcelo Periales de Argentina e integrado por los más importantes referentes de la Industria de la región.

La primera reunión se realizó en Las Vegas en Noviembre y en Julio se realizó la segunda en la Ciudad de Guatemala, donde se trataron temas tan importantes como Educación, Investigación, Seguridad, Aranceles de importación y Membresías.

Esta reunión fue presidida por Julio Vanegas de Colombia que reemplazó interinamente a Marcelo Periales y estuvieron presentes dos ex chairman de la IAAPA, René Aziz y Alain Baldacci.

Un párrafo aparte merece el anfitrión, Don Ricardo Castillo, quien no dejó de sorprender por sus continuas atenciones y por su calidad y calidez de anfitrión.

"Sorprendente", "increíble"," nunca visto", son tan sólo alguno de los comentarios que se escucharon al visitar sus parques, verdadero orgullo para América Latina y ejemplos para el mundo entero.

Esta enriquecedora experiencia se repetirá en el 2011 en Colombia, donde no solamente concurrirán los miembros del Comité si no que estará abierto a cualquier representante de la Industria de la región. Un verdadero Summer mitting latinoamericano.

Por último es importante mencionar el seminario que se dictó en Buenos Aires a donde concurrieron 62 representantes de diferentes parques de América Latina. En este número encontrarán más información al respecto.

Going through Latin-American integration

Another hard year of work for the Association has gone by. Fortunately, this year we didn't have to fight against an epidemic flu. Nevertheless the increase in labor cost, inflation and other tax issues, didn't give us a break.

The most important achievement of this year was eliminating a tax unfairly applied to family entertainment centers.
Despite this, companies grew opening new branches and, in some cases, they extended his operations to other countries.

On the other hand, this year was very important due to the integration with other countries of the region.
At the end of last year, the Comité Asesor de America Latina de IAAPPA was presided by Marcelo Periales form Argentina and was formed by the most important referents of the region.

The first meeting took place in Las Vegas on November. On July the second meeting took place in Guatemala where education, investigation, security, import duties and memberships were some of the themes developed.

This meeting was presided by Julio Vanegas form Colombia, who provisionally replaced Marcelo Periales. René Aziz and Alain Baldacci, two ex chairman from IAAPA were there.

Don Ricardo Castillo's behavior as a host is worth mentioning. Constantly paying attention to everyone's needs, always baring in mind host's warmth.

"Surprising", "incredible", "never seen before" were some of the comments heard when visiting the parks. Real pride for Latin America, stetting example for the entire world.

This enriching experience will happen again in 2011 in Colombia. Members of the comité will attend and it will also invite representatives of the region. A real Latin-American summer meeting.

Finally, it's important to mention the seminar that took place in Buenos Aires were 62 representatives from different Latin-American parks assisted.
